We will never share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Specifically:

“Mobile Opt-In, SMS Consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS communication purposes will not be shared with any third party or affiliates for marketing purposes.”

We may share information when required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of the Borough or the public.

1.4 Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical controls to protect your data. However, no system is entirely secure; you use our services at your own risk.

1.5 Third-Party Links

1.6 Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

2. SMS Terms & Conditions

Freeland Borough offers an SMS/text messaging service to keep residents and stakeholders informed about Borough-related updates. By opting in, you agree to the following:

2.1 SMS Consent Communication

The information (including phone numbers) obtained as part of the SMS consent process will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

2.2 Types of SMS Communications

  • Emergency and public safety alerts.
  • Service and schedule updates.
  • Meeting and event reminders.
  • Public works or road notifications.
  • Community announcements.

2.3 Message Frequency

Message frequency may vary depending on Borough activities, emergencies, and your preferences.

2.4 Potential Fees for SMS Messaging

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier. Freeland Borough is not responsible for carrier fees.

2.5 Opt-In Method

  • Submitting your phone number on official Borough forms (online or paper).
  • Texting a designated keyword when provided.
  • Providing verbal or written consent to an authorized Borough representative.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving Borough services.

2.6 Opt-Out Method
