Recent Website Updates

Greetings to all residents and visitors of Freeland Borough,

We are pleased to see so many of you visiting the site and have gotten some great feedback from you.  We’re listening and are looking to improve your access to important borough information.

What’s New?

We’ve been hard at work making updates and creating new content on the website.  Here are a few highlights:

  • Digital Forms: We have begun the process of creating and making available form-fillable PDFs for some of our more common forms.  We are revising some forms to be more up-to-date and will be moving these to the website as they are completed.  We have also begun testing the use of online forms for a completely digital process.  Currently, there is only one online form available, the Citizen Complaint Form.  As always, for those luddites out there, we will have physical copies of all forms available at the borough office.
  • SMS Notification System: Sign-ups have begun for our SMS notification system and we have over 170 subscribers in just 2 days.  This system will work along side our email notification system.  It’s important to note that the SMS notification system is for text messages only and will not include voice calls (like the calls the Freeland Municipal Authority provides).  If you haven’t signed up already, head here: SMS Notification Signup
  • Email Notification System: The email notification system is being worked on and will be ready for testing any day now.  We already have a list of almost 500 residents, thank you previous council president Matt Krone for compiling the list and providing it to us.  Residents may signup for the email notification system, just like the SMS notification system here: Email Notification Signup

What’s Next?

  • Continue adding ordinances and resolutions
  • Continue digitizing forms
  • Add payment links to the website for bills and payment of fees and fines
  • Increase information available on the website: Garbage collection dates, tax collector information, FAQs, and other pertinent information.
  • Implement the email and SMS notification systems
  • Create an avenue for residents to ask questions and make comments to allow for enhanced input from the community.  This is still in the planning stages and may take a month or two.
